My new toy

This is what I bought myself with my Christmas gift cards (merci Mam pi Dad!)

Let me be clear here so I don't give anyone the wrong impression: I do not like cleaning!  Up until last summer, when I left my job to go back to uni full-time, we had a cleaning service.  We're not rich or anything, but we did "invest" part of our income into a cleaning service which bought us time on the weekends.  Anyway!  Since we're only on one salary now, it was almost impossible to pay for a cleaning service, so my husband and I have been doing our best to keep up with our dirt and animal hair.

This little beauty is perfect for the floors upstairs.  No more dragging out the heavy-duty vacuum for the floors...  nope, we keep that one for the carpets downstairs.  This feather-weight skinny little thing works on a rechargeable battery (no long cord!) and is so light, it takes me all about 15 minutes to do the whole upstairs.  And it's good on floors and carpet, and is even strong enough to pick up dog kibbles.  I'm not trying to sell the machine. I'm posting about it because I find it useful when other bloggers post about items or products they've tried and give a review.  And I'm also posting about it because it's a fun new toy for me!  Did I mention how easy it is to store too!?

My friend Domestic Bella would be proud of me!!

  2. Can you give me details on the brand, model, etc.? I have a shark right now and love it, but when this thing goes, I don't know that I will get another one. Compared to my old vac, the Shark is amazing, but I think there are better ones that are afforable out there. Also, I love the lack of a chord. Oh how nice that would be!

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hey Sarah! Sure. The specifications are here http://hoover.com/products/details/bh50010/platinum-collection-linx-cordless-stick-vacuum/

It's a great vacuum for every day use. For us it's great to take care of the animal hair.

I suggest you go try it out of possible (we went to Sears). To note too, we were told the battery will only last about 20 minutes when the vacuum is on. That's fine for me because it takes me about 15 mins to do the upstairs. Also, there are no attachments to do anything else than floors (no brush etc).

But, it powerful, and comes with a 2-year warranty.

      Hope that helps! :)

  3. Looks like an easy use! We still hold brooms for cleaning and occasionally use vacuum cleaner.

  4. I am so proud of you!!! Look at you finding the tools that fit your cleaning needs! The rechargeable battery is quite intriguing. When mine bites the dust I will have to look into something like this.
